Making and selling - an ongoing journal
I use my sketchbooks for doodling, planning, writing, pasting in all kinds of things I find inspiring. I write to do lists, and shopping lists. I draw to see myself clearer. I sketch wathcing TV or in nature. I draw fruit whilst sitting on my market stall. It is a hold all for every day, a diary. BUT: this is not where I put my best energy. It is a tool to help me prepare to do the real work. As an athlete train for competition, actors practice before a performance - so does the artist or maker also prepare to channel all the best and purest energy into the moment it really counts.
